Not really. You are dealing with a complex system of configuration settings that react in mysterious ways. AND that seeing as this is a kernel, the hard decisions are best left to humans, not software. So all that oldconfig really does is look for settings that are present in the source tree but not accounted for in your .config For everything else, you get to look yourself.
