Some data of mine: I'm in the groups: groups=10(wheel),11(floppy),18(audio),19(cdrom),27(video),35(games),85(usb),100(users),250(portage),443(plugdev),1000(rh),1001(wireshark) CD/DVD device: $ ls -l /dev/cdrom lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2008-05-09 04:45 /dev/cdrom -> sr0 $ ls -l /dev/sr0 brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 11, 0 2008-05-09 04:45 /dev/sr0 dbus and hal are running. USB disks, cameras or MP3-players are correctly mounted. Only CDs are not. Tips, comments highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. W. Canis
