I have also found that when LINGUAS is set to multiple values, emerge -pv sorts them when it shwos what it would do: # LINGUAS="en_US en_GB en" emerge -pv --nospinner mozilla-firefox-bin These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies ... done!
