HI group, I moved /usr/portage to /var/portage and readjusted PORTDIR in make.conf and re & re'd the link to /etc/make.profile.
Now emege -p pkg for user leads to Permission denied: '/var/portage/profiles/categories' It's OK for root. NB:user is in portage group, /var/portage/profiles/categories is owned by portage:portage. I googled the error message(I can't be the first to move portage to var)and got nothing. Something else to check? Maxim
