If it helps any, I'm on Portage 2.2_rc42 and my package.use file is normal. That is one line with multiple USE flags on the one line. Portage did upgrade tonight tho. I think it was rc40 before that. Also, I still have the file, not a directory for package.*. I still haven't switched yet. Dale :-) :-)
