Looks like userreps are having a meeting this weekend. Since we
haven't had one in a long time, we decided to have an all-weekend-long
meeting. :-P

Everyone is welcome to join us in #gentoo-userreps. We don't really
expect anybody to attend the full meeting, and there are specific
times for "focused" discussion, described by loki99's email below.
But there should be at least a few of us hanging out there at most of
the time.

Subject: Calling For A Meeting
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi everyone!

As it has been quite a while since the last one, I would like to call
for a meeting this weekend (17/18/19.11.06).

And I would like to suggest to change the form of the meeting to
something completely different. >:) I have talked this over with some of
you on irc and would like to try it out this weekend to see whether it
will improve our meeting performance. ;)

I suggest to have the meeting from Friday 16:00 UTC to Sunday 24:00 UTC
(on #gentoo-userreps-meeting?), with 3 "hot spots" for intense
discussion. Saturday 11:00 UTC, Saturday 21:00 UTC and Sunday 23:00 UTC.

The various topics should be collected before the meeting starts, but
one can still add a topic until the 1st hot spot, if necessary. Saturday
11:00 UTC the topic for the meetings are set and discussion can begin.

Hot spots last for 2 hours but people can discuss whenever they want. At
each hot spot we try to shortly summarize the various viewpoints.

At the end we can have a vote about some issues if necessary and someone
should write a summary of the meeting.

Everyone should try to spend as much time as possible in irc to keep the
discussion floating. Perhaps this will give us enough time to go throu
all the topics that have to be dealt with.

And here are my topic suggestions to start with ;)

*) userreps forum: short status quo, which topics go in/out, what to do
with good suggestions, userreps initiatives (polls ie.) ideas

*) user day initiative: how soon should we start, how do we attract
people, how do we make this a fun event

*) interviews with SOC students anything needed from our part?

*) gentoo-userreps.org: what should be on there? web page wiki etc.
time plan?

*) video-howtos: status quo, ideas, suggestions, experiences

*) home made howtos and tutorials in "howtoforge" style,
+/vs gentoo-wiki. opinions?

Please drop a line what you think about it and whether you will be able
to attend.

best regards,
georg
