Hi Rodrigo,

Check out libosmium http://osmcode.org/libosmium/
and the python bindings https://github.com/osmcode/pyosmium

There a tutorial for the related osmium tool
http://osmcode.org/osmium-tool/manual.html
and node-osmium
https://github.com/osmcode/node-osmium/blob/master/doc/tutorial.md
to give you ideas
Sarah Hoffmann will present pysosmium at
https://2017.geopython.net/ (a whole conference about
geo and python) next month.

As for OSM data structures
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Elements
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OSM_XML
are an introduction.

https://help.openstreetmap.org/ and
http://gis.stackexchange.com/ are good forums to ask
further questions.

Subject: [Geocoding] OpenStreetMap + Python + VGI
Message-ID:

Hello, good evening,

Someone knows some good library/API, tutorial, documentation, etc. in
Python to work with VGI (volunteered geographic information) or
OpenStreetMap?
I am starting a project of VGI, using Python with OpenStreetMap.
And I am beginner with OSM and VGI, because of that I am asking about.

Thank you.

Best regards,
