In order to 1) get more talent into this field 2) improve the public perception of geoeng 3) build the knowledge base
it seems sensible to try to get more academic focus on the discipline. It seems to me that the MSc and MEng level is the most appropiate, as it's probably too narrow a specialisation for undergraduates. A cursory search of academic courses available revealed only http://www.geo.citg.tudelft.nl/msc_env.php which is an oddly-named course, the department in question confusing 'geoengineering' (saving the world) with 'geotechnical engineering' (building sewers and underground carparks etc.). Does anyone know of any courses, or moves to create such courses? i'd be happy to wikipedia any such info, and I'd be really interested in any move anyone can suggest to further academic study of the discipline.
