You won't believe the effectiveness of this non-mechanical climate geoengineering technology According to the Royal Society definition, Geoengineering is “the deliberate large-scale intervention in the Earth’s climate system, in order to moderate global warming”. But it can also be referred as climate engineering, climate intervention or as I prefer to use, climate geoengineering. Climate geoengineering methods are then further divided into two principal classes: 1) Carbon dioxide removal (CDR) techniques which remove CO2 from the atmosphere; 2) Solar Radiation Management (SRM) techniques that reflect a small percentage of the sun’s light and heat back into space Other useful classifications. Mechanical systems technologies for climate geoengineering: Techniques that require the development of a large mechanical apparatus, i.e. machinery designed with specific climate geoengineering aims. Such machinery includes high altitude airplanes or globes for stratospheric injections, autonomous ocean ships for marine cloud enhancement; carbon capture systems for power plants or direct CO2 removal from the atmosphere. Non-mechanical systems technologies for climate geoengineering: The development of processes or strategies that involve, enhance and/or maintain or direct ongoing non-climate-geoengineering specific procedures and activities to specific climate significant paths. As such, “climate change denialism”, which should be differentiated from climate change skepticism; could be thought of as the most successful and effective non-mechanical climate geoengineering technology to date.
