The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies invites applications for
a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor,
effective July 1, 2012, subject to budgetary approval.

We seek candidates with broad teaching expertise and research skill who can
contribute to our resource and environmental management geography program. We
are particularly interested in candidates who bring a multidisciplinary
perspective and who can engage with new understandings of environmental
geopolitics and public policy in contexts such as land resources (e.g. forests,
wildlife, energy and minerals), water resources (e.g. fisheries, water use and
allocation, conflict and water), or natural resource-based communities.
Regional interests in Canada and global northern and circumpolar areas are
particularly welcome. Preference will be given to applicants whose scholarly
and research interactions will facilitate collaborations with faculty in the
Cold Regions Research Centre, Laurier Institute for Water Science and/or the
Balsillie School for International Affairs.

Candidates will possess a PhD in Geography, or a closely related discipline, at
the time of appointment and demonstrate a clear promise of excellence in
research, a keen interest to direct graduate research, and effectiveness in
teaching. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae, a short statement of
research and teaching interests, up to three selected reprints, and the names
and e-mail addresses of three referees to:
