This is a non-tenure track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor (Research) of Spatial Sciences. Candidates will have completed a Ph.D. in computer science, at least two-years of postgraduate training, and two-years of graduate level teaching. The successful candidate will have experience in advanced digital map processing techniques (e.g. image processing, pattern recognition, graphics recognition, geographic information systems), experience in advanced information integration techniques that tackle the challenges arising from handling the various aspects of big spatial data (e.g. spatial data modeling, integration, publishing, and visualization). The successful candidate will also have a successful track record in publishing research articles in GIS-related conferences and journals (e.g. ACM SIGSPATIAL, GeoInformatica, International Journal of Geographic Information Science, Transactions in GIS). Candidates should be prepared to advise and mentor graduate students in our graduate program.
