Silvia,
If the points you want to plot relate to an existing database, for example
if you want symbols on only a few stations, then create a channel
containing dummies for everything but the points you want symbols on (check
out the classify gx). If the points aren't related to the underlying
database, for example cities and towns on a regional mag map, then you are
better off to create a new database containing those points only. You can
use any of Symbols, PropSymb, ColSymb, ClaSymb or ClasSymb2 to do the
actual symbol plotting, depending on how sophisticated you want to be.
