Point placement ruined when previous polygon symbolizer is used

With style1.xml the output of a topp:states requests is like in figure1.png:
http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wms?HEIGHT=317&WIDTH=800&LAYERS=topp%3Apgstates&STYLES=style1&SRS=EPSG%3A4326&FORMAT=image%2Fpng&SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.1.1&REQUEST=GetMap&EXCEPTIONS=application%2Fvnd.ogc.se_inimage&BBOX=-202.57416686328128,-3.7261531676757897,-4.0187596757812685,74.9514269303711
whilst using style2.xml (point symbolizer before polygon symbolizer) is like in
figure2.png, see how in the second case the point placement is correct, whilst
in the second is not.
