WFS-T demo broken in FF3 RC1 and IE 7

The classic wfs-t demo does not work in FF3 rc1, the error message I get when
activating the edit tools is:
"Your browser does not support vector rendering. Currently supported renderers
are:
SVG
VML"
Editing in IE7 works, but saving (clicking on the save cities link) triggers
the following error:

Column 106
Error: property or method not supported by object
