Nope, it's really OL that has issues afaik. I have this jira open about it: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-1955 Afaik upgrading to OL 2.6 would solve the issue, but unfortunately there are unsolved build issues for preparing the shrinked down version of OL (like it's getting too big or something like that).
