Yeah, a release would be good, I had no idea we'd fixed that many bugs.
We've just spent a chunk of time on 1.7.0-beta2, so maybe not right
away, but we could aim for mid-week next week? If not then our goal is
rc1 the following week, so we could do the week after that.

Hi,
I was looking at the list of bugs fixed for 1.6.5:
http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&&fixfor=13878&pid=10311&resolution=1&resolution=2&resolution=3&resolution=4&resolution=5&resolution=6&sorter/field=priority&sorter/order=DESC
and it's quite impressive, 52 fixes since 1.6.4. Time to
release it and then put a stone over the gs 1.6.x/gt 2.4.x branches
and forget about them?
That would require a 2.4.x somethign release, the last one
from the 2.4.x series.
And oh, here is the list of bugs assigned to 1.6.5 but still
unsolved:
http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&mode=hide&sorter/order=DESC&sorter/field=priority&resolution=-1&pid=10311&fixfor=13878
There are 4 critical ones, but looking at them, they do not
seem that critical at all. So I'd suggest to tone them down
to major and move all of them to 1.7.0-rc1.
Opinions?
Cheers
Andrea
