Issue Type: Bug Bug
Affects Versions: 2.2.2, 2.1.4
Assignee: Andrea Aime
Attachments: geoserver_geometry_check.txt
Components: Oracle
Created: 11/Dec/12 4:46 AM
Description:

In Geoserver 2.1.4 after the first WFS request (search request) Geoserver is checking the geometry type of every dataset in the workspace. And this take a lot of time (about a hour, we have more then 1000 layers). After the first request it goes well untill you reload Geoserver catalog or restart Tomcat.

In Geoserver 2.2.2 this behaviour already take place on the moment Geoserver is starting. It then also is checking the geometry type of all the layers.

Is there a solution or setting or workaround for this? Because what is the use of this checking?

In the attachment a part of the log (debug mode) and this goes on for more then 1000 layers.

Environment: Tomcat 6.x and Oracle 10
Project: GeoServer
Labels: oracle wfs geometry check
Priority: Major Major
