Mac:

should work (thanks Justin)
- bin download should work on mac, still need a documentation fix here
Windows:
- GEOS-7507 <https://osgeo-org.atlassian.net/browse/GEOS-7507> windows
service should still be broken (we will have to fix for RC1)
- GEOS-7509 <https://osgeo-org.atlassian.net/browse/GEOS-7509> the windows
installer manual option (with startup.bat) should work - I was unable to
reproduce the failure
