I see no movement on this one.
One thing I've noticed just now from the proposal:

The module has a designated and active maintainer
The original author Gabriel has asked David Blasby to look after pull
requests.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mind, a module maintainer is also supposed to answer questions on the user
list pertaining to the module,
and fix bugs. It does not have to be within the day, the week or the month
(especially for code changes)
it's more like feeling responsible for the module, and do something about
it when there is some time allowing
for caretaking.
