Dear List, I went through all the (many) previous posts about the subject and still can not figure out what's wrong. Thanks beforehand for your kindly patience.
I downloaded landsat images from ftp://ftp.glcf.umiacs.umd.edu and produced pseudo RGB outputs with GRASS and then exported it to GeoTiFF with the option nodata=0. The nodata region of INDIVIDUAL files display transparent in QGIS but not in geoserver which displays it as black. I made an image mosaic of 4 such contiguous images and no matter how i play with the Transparency and BackgroundValues options, I cannot make nodata pixels transparent http://old.nabble.com/file/p29503287/screenshot.png . Please find below information about my configuration and the GeoTiFF images. Two sample GeoTiFF files can be downloaded from http://ekumen.homelinux.net/image1.zip http://ekumen.homelinux.net/image2.zip Did not think about creating an alpha channel because I remember that an ImageMosaic I had produced with the very same images had worked in Geoserver a couple of months ago. I just can't remember how :o( your help will be appreciated best Servet Geoserver 2.0.2 running under Ubuntu Lucid. gdalinfo : Driver: GTiff/GeoTIFF Files: 00_bb.rgb.tif Size is 8764, 7780 Coordinate System is: PROJCS["WGS 84 / UTM zone 35N", GEOGCS["WGS 84", DATUM["WGS_1984", SPHEROID["WGS 84",6378137,298.257223563, AUTHORITY["EPSG","7030"]], AUTHORITY["EPSG","6326"]], PRIMEM["Greenwich",0], UNIT["degree",0.0174532925199433], AUTHORITY["EPSG","4326"]], PROJECTION["Transverse_Mercator"], PARAMETER["latitude_of_origin",0], PARAMETER["central_meridian",27], PARAMETER["scale_factor",0.9996], PARAMETER["false_easting",500000], PARAMETER["false_northing",0], UNIT["metre",1, AUTHORITY["EPSG","9001"]], AUTHORITY["EPSG","32635"]] Origin = (548311.500000000000000,4736842.500000000000000) Pixel Size = (28.500000000000000,-28.500000000000000) Metadata: AREA_OR_POINT=Area Image Structure Metadata: INTERLEAVE=BAND Corner Coordinates: Upper Left ( 548311.500, 4736842.500) ( 27d35'26.30"E, 42d46'57.36"N) Lower Left ( 548311.500, 4515112.500) ( 27d34'21.32"E, 40d47'8.09"N) Upper Right ( 798085.500, 4736842.500) ( 30d38'26.86"E, 42d43'34.37"N) Lower Right ( 798085.500, 4515112.500) ( 30d31'47.32"E, 40d43'58.75"N) Center ( 673198.500, 4625977.500) ( 29d 5'1.25"E, 41d46'0.30"N) Band 1 Block=8764x1 Type=UInt16, ColorInterp=Palette NoData Value=0 Color Table (RGB with 65536 entries) 0: 0,0,0,255 1: 8,0,0,255 2: 16,0,0,255 3: 24,0,0,255 ... 65535: 0,0,0,255 -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Yet-another-GeoTIFF-ImageMosaic-Transparency-problem-tp29503287p29503287.html Sent from the GeoServer - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sell apps to millions through the Intel(R) Atom(Tm) Developer Program Be part of this innovative community and reach millions of netbook users worldwide.
