Look either in /tmp/ or in tomcat's own tmp This seems to get cleaned out when restarting tomcat... Noticed this in the logs...could it be related? 18 Oct 08:23:54 WARN [referencing.factory] - Axis elements found in a wkt definition, the force longitude first axis order hint might not be respected: PROJCS["WGS84 / Simple Mercator", GEOGCS["WGS 84", DATUM["WGS_1984", SPHEROID["WGS_1984", 6378137.0, 298.257223563]], PRIMEM["Greenwich", 0.0], UNIT["degree", 0.017453292519943295 ]], PROJECTION["Mercator_1SP_Google"], PARAMETER["latitude_of_origin", 0.0], PARAMETER["central_meridian", 0.0], PARAMETER["scale_factor", 1.0], PARAMETER["false_easting", 0.0], P ARAMETER["false_northing", 0.0], UNIT["m", 1.0], AXIS["x", EAST], AXIS["y", NORTH], AUTHORITY["EPSG","54004"]] Or this 18 Oct 08:23:57 ERROR [layer.TileLayerDispatcher] - Error reading service information from /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/geoserver/../resources: Error parsing file /var/lib/tomcat6/web apps/geoserver/../resources/geowebcache.xml But earlier the log says I can ignore this (I presume): 18 Oct 08:23:51 INFO [config.XMLConfiguration] - Failed to find geowebcache.xml. This is not a problem unless you are trying to use a custom XML configuration file. Clutching at straws a bit here. Not reallly sure where to begin looking. Perhaps the only odd stuff I'm doing is running the request through a proxy - but I would have thought that if this broke it, it would be broken all of the time. Also as mentioned before I'm populating a geoext grid with the response. Or should I say responses (plural). That is, I have the available layers grouped in the grid layout by their geoext corresponding workspace - effectively one grid per workspace. So I'm making three capabilities requests in short succession.
