Hi,

I am trying to understand how to set security settings in geoserver to set up a
test production environment.

I will eventually have to do this for a number of local authorities. Each
authority should only be able to edit their respective data.

...so if I set up a workspace called "http:///www.region_1.com"; and
"http:///www.region_1.com"; and then load data into Geoserver from a postgis db,
I would like a situation where the GIS editor from region_1 would only be able
to see and edit the data in his workspace and the GIS editor from region_2 to
only see and be able to edit his data in workspace www.region_2.com etc

I can see how this works inside geoserver, but when I start a session in Udig
or
QGis and connect to the postgis database how can I ensure that the region_1
editor can only edit the tables from www.region_1.com workspace?

Thanks for any tips,

Robert Buckley
