Andrea,
thanks a lot for your reply. I am aware of the different ordering in the
coordinates. I'v been trying to track down the problem a little further.
When I use only EPSG:4326 in the request I do get the correct image
returned. But when using urn:ogc:def:crs:EPSG:4326 instead (and switching
from lon/lat to lat/lon coordinates) the image returned is flipped and
rotated, regardless of the viewing software (I tried QGIS & ArcGIS).
I also double-checked the same image on a another Geoserver instance we are
running (GS 2.0.2), and surprisingly both requests result in exactly the
same image. So the problem occurs only with GS 2.1.0beta1. I suspect there
is either a bug or more parameters need to be specified.
for your reference here are the two requests I used:
http://localhost:8090/geoserver/ows?service=WCS&version=1.1.1&request=getCoverage&identifier=sbsc:MOD11C3.A2000061.005.2006273174935_MODIS_MONTHLY_0.05DEG_CMG_LST_day&boundingbox=50,50,180,80,EPSG:4326&format=image/geotiff&GridBaseCRS=EPSG:4326&store=true
http://localhost:8090/geoserver/ows?service=WCS&version=1.1.1&request=getCoverage&identifier=sbsc:MOD11C3.A2000061.005.2006273174935_MODIS_MONTHLY_0.05DEG_CMG_LST_day&boundingbox=50,50,80,180,urn:ogc:def:crs:EPSG:4326&format=image/geotiff&GridBaseCRS=urn:ogc:def:crs:EPSG:4326&store=true
thanks again for looking into this,
Roman
