Neither of these is possible right now. The printing module is pretty loosely integrated with GeoServer. Ideally it would not communicate with the GeoServer hosting it via HTTP, but render from a direct database query (and respect user credentials sent along with the print request.) I haven't investigated doing this, but it will take some familiarity with both the print module and geoserver internals.
Have you tried using the PDF outputformat for WMS requests? It is less configurable in terms of layout but should work with secured layers. -- David Winslow OpenGeo - http:///opengeo.org/ On Tue, Aug 16, 2011 at 6:25 AM, Philipp Keller < philipp.kel...@uni-muenster.de> wrote: > Hi, > > Im trying to implement the GeoServer Printing Module to export secured > data as a PDF document. > > The Web Application we're using authenticates to a virtual OWS of > GeoServer via HTTP Basic Authentication which works pretty good > (GeoServer Catalog Security is turned to "mixed"). > > But inside the PDF theres a comment saying "Error (status=401) [...] > Unauthorized" > > So is there a possibility either to configure the Printing Module with > the user information to authenticate against the 401 request or to > configure GeoServer to give the Printing Module read access to (all) > data (perhaps similar to the REST security configuration)? > > Tanks a lot for for your help. > Best regards, > Philipp > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > uberSVN's rich system and user administration capabilities and model > configuration take the hassle out of deploying and managing Subversion and > the tools developers use with it.
