thanks for the reply Louis, I am running openlayers from port 7013, (I updated the copy of openlayers located at GeoServer 2.1.2\webapps\geoserver with the full version of openlayers and have then used an exisiting link to this openlayers location, I tested this openlayers with WMS layers and it works ok for them). Ideally I want to avoid a proxy server, as I have heard that there are security issues with them.
I have tried to reproduce the error in other ways, and I can get it to happen with a WMS layer if I give it the wrong file location. Therefore I think I may be looking in the wrong place for the WFS. Is there a way I can check that a location contains a WFS layer? (beyond trying to add the layer of course), thanks again, -- View this message in context: http://osgeo-org.1803224.n2.nabble.com/Using-a-WFS-layer-tp6981364p6981476.html Sent from the GeoServer - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RSA(R) Conference 2012 Save $700 by Nov 18 Register now http://p.sf.net/sfu/rsa-sfdev2dev1 _______________________________________________ Geoserver-users mailing list Geoserver-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/geoserver-users
