I am trying to install GeoServer on Ubuntu - *64bit*

1- i installed Oracle Java 7 successfully.

2- to install JAI and ImageIO for AMD 64-bitby by following:
http://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/production/java.html#installing-native-jai-on-linux

step 2, i got the error: this is not a proper jdk directory. exiting
install.

does the 64bit have another way to run bin files ?
&
any idea about this error ?
