Hello,

i have still the same problems with ugly looking fonts after upgrading to:

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Geoserver 2.1.4
JVM Version Oracle Corporation: 1.7.0_07 (Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server
VM)
Natives JAI true (Version 1.1.3)
Natives JAI ImageIO true (Version 1.1)

My only way to fix it up to now is to make the WMS-Layer opak: With
Request-Parameter: TRANPARENT=false the labels look nice, but you can't see
the Baselayer or other Layers.

I played araound with the Geoserver WMS configuration (compress factor png)
but nothing happens. I think, there is perhaps a problem with the fonts: i
still use different font-family entries in teh SLD but all rendered labels
wont show differences.

Christof
