Hopefully this is quick and easy question for someone with the knowledge. GeoServer lets me use well-known shapes for point symbols, e.g. circle square triangle etc. When rendering large numbers of features I have seen that these symbols are rendered much faster than external graphics.
I am hoping to extend this range of shapes and hopefully get similar performance. I assume they are based on SVG, and therefore new shapes I create in SVG (if simple) will also be fast. Can anyone tell me where these well-known shapes are defined, and if it's not obvious how they are defined?
