Postgis developers previously stated that you should bring your raster data
in postgis
only if you intend to use its analytic capabilities, if it's pure storage
instead keeping
them on the file system should provide better performance (but you may have
a mandate
to just store everything in a database, in such case the imagemosaic-jdbc
addresses
the need).
