 actually, like I tried to explain, I don't ever need a map composed of 
 several images. The maximum number is four, if it happens so that e.g. 
 tile is composed of the corners of four maps.
 We have different maps for different scales so using this particular 
 material is restricted only for accurate zoom levels, it never happens 
 so that I would need a large overview with small pixel number out of 
 tens or hundreds of these maps.

 Is mosaic store still the wrong option for this?
 Pyramid would need more preprocessing, right?
