Hi João,
I'm not really clear what you're asking for. If you know the lat/lon you
can either find what item is there (WMS - getFeatureInfo request), or pan
the map there directly. Selecting by primary key would be a WFS query
(getFeature I think). I'm not sure how these are packaged up in OpenLayers
though.

Your question may be better suited to the OpenLayers mailing list however.
