Hello, I want to start using Geoserver but i'm a bit confused with the whole procedure. I have plenty of questions and i would appreciate simple answers since i'm not an experienced user.
With geoserver you can publish your own maps online. In order to use a base map you have to use openlayers or similar? If i want a user (any user or only registered users) to add points on a published map, add a small description and then add these points to the database, how can this be done? Geoserver can handle the whole oparation? Do i have to use a programing language to achive this functionality (if so, which language?)? If i use google maps as base map, am i allowed to digitize on this base map (i'm asking about the rights)? Is it better to use openstreemaps?
