This was very long and I hesitate to summarise it but it more or less was about GeoJSON people wanting to keep lon-lat (easting-northing) order for simplicity but OGC people saying that if the coordinate system was one that was defined as lat-lon or northing-easting (or even some other variants) then the coordinate order should obey the ordering defined by the coordinate system. I believe that the compromise that was eventually settled on for a draft IETF standard of GeoJSON (http://www.ietf.org/id/draft-butler-geojson-04.txt Section 3) was that GeoJSON should just use lon-lat coordinates with WGS84 datum and that it is not recommended to use other coordinate systems.
