I am trying to install GeoServer onto a web host with WHM and cPanel. I have
installed Tomcat 7.0.42 and it appears to be running correctly as I deployed
a sample.war file offered here:

https://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/appdev/sample/
<https://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/appdev/sample/>

I have also successfully deployed a calendar date picker .war file.
However when I deploy the geoserver.war file and go to the domain, I am
getting a 404 error.

I have tired different versions of geoserver with no success. I know the
.war files I am trying inherently work, as I can deploy them on my local
machine with tomcat installed. I only run into issues when I deploy on my
Virtual Private Server.

I’m very new to Tomcat Apache, but feel like it must be installed correctly
since I can deploy other .war files. Java version on the server is 1.7.0_79.

Any ideas to why I cannot deploy any versions of Geoserver.war while other
.war files work fine?
Any help is appreciated.
