I still can't see any pull request from you... did you hit the "Propose file change" green button at the bottom of the page?
According to the quickstart guide, GitHub should "Create a fork and submit a pull request on your behalf" when you do it... Can you point me to your GeoServer fork so I can take a look and try to figure out what's going on?
