Who generates the mysql insert statment? perhaps the mysql extension of
geoserver?
There is a way to modify the insert statment?

For example, both of the following function calls are valid, whereas before
MySQL 5.7.9 the second one produces an error:
ST_MPointFromText('MULTIPOINT (1 1, 2 2, 3 3)')
ST_MPointFromText('MULTIPOINT ((1 1), (2 2), (3 3))')
