Hi Paul,
doh, I did not remember that style selection is not available for WMS
cascaded layers.
So, if this is the case, I believe there is no way to do what you want
(checked the
code, even the &SLD approach will not work).
Sorry, I coded WMS cascading 10 years ago and I did not use it much in the
meantime,
I was remembering something that is not actually there :-p
