Hi Olyster, you can make the pull request yourself in the file in question, following the suggested approach at https://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/docguide/quickfix.html (it's for docs, but works for any other file on github really).
If a core dev had to make the same change, then they'd also have to write a test to verify that the change works, when an occasional contributor proposes the change, we sometimes close an eye on rules.
