Dear all,

A few months ago I filed a bug report regarding artifacts when doing on-the-fly reprojection by GeoServer from lat/lon (EPSG 4326) raster data into Arctic polar stereographic (EPSG 3413).

As understandably such a (possible) bug will not be resolved overnight, I wonder if I can do anything on the data side to circumvent the problem, like switching data type or playing with resolution or metadata. Since it seems that polar stereographic is a common projection in e.g. the satellite community, would anyone of you have experience with succesful GeoServer reprojection into EPSG 3413 or similar, without artifacts. Which datasets did you use?

For my experiences so far see:

Or

for an affected tile.

A leaflet example that shows the problem is attached.

Thanks a lot,

Jeroen

PS:

Example of GeoServer artifacts in a polar stereographic reprojection of lat-lon (EPSG 4326) raster data. Zoom in and allow the data to load n order to see the effect.
