Hi,
could you please share the full stack trace?

In general it's not a great idea to store data in a visualization CRS such
as EPSG:3857, as it introduces
significant data resampling. As a result, it's a use case that's not very
well covered by the existing codebase
(of course it could be improved, funding permitting).
