Hi,

There's a thread on the Geoserver-users list though I can't find it with
gmail for some reason, called " *CSS rule to XML conversion, no rule name
<https://sourceforge.net/p/geoserver/mailman/message/36050785/>*" , and it
is about this I would like to query.

A css-style made with the css-styling plugin to Geoserver 2.20.3 can have a
rule title, that becomes <title> in the spawned .sld and Getlegendgraphic
needs a rule name in order to fetch a specific rule's graphic. We would
like to use CSS to style our WMS layers and we have a print function that
fetches the names and titles of styles via first
getlegendgraphic-application/json and then specific rules' graphics for a
nice looking legend (that currently does not work with css-styled layers).

I'm wondering if any work has been done on this since 2017, or there have
been further discussions or thoughts. If we wished to contribute toward a
solution like proposed in the linked thread (autogenerate <name> somehow or
something different, in order to achieve our stated goal, where could we
look / who would we talk to?

Thanks in advance /
David
