jgarnett james / justin we have exhausted all attempts to get the
ImageIO plugin thing to work for udig
jgarnett aka we can find the classes contributed by a "buddy classloader"
jgarnett but the META-INF entries are not picted up by ImageIO
jgarnett Jesse has checked that the geotools code tries calling this
stuff everywhich way...
jgarnett so the only conclusion is that ImageIO does not work ... and it
is time to pack it in.
jgarnett So as it stands we will just keep dumping jars into udig libs
... cause we need to demo.
jgarnett Real solution involves hacking the ImageIO code, or switching
to OSGi (or something else?)
Steps we have taken:
1. Confirmed correct construction of FactoryFinder
2. Walked through with the debugger, correctly makes it into ImageIO code
