OracleDataStore doesn't always correctly handle mixed-case table and field
names
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: GEOT-720
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOT-720
Project: GeoTools
Type: Improvement
Components: oraclespatial
Versions: 2.2.M0
Reporter: Paolo Rizzi
Assigned to: Sean Geoghegan
Priority: Minor
Fix For: 2.1.1
This is the same as http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOT-378 that was fixed for
PostgisDataStore.
In OracleDataStore there's no concept at all of case-sensitiveness in table and
field names.
I don't know if this should be considered a bug, since Oracle seems to be an
all-upper-case world,
anyway it would be good if case is supported, maybe with a configuration
parameter to say
if one wants it or not.
Probably this will never be a problem for anyone apart me, but if you try to
move data back and forth
between a PostgisDataStore and a OracleDataStore, it's a little of a pain.
Anyway, since the Oracle instance is not mantained by me, I decided I'll
convert all to upper case,
so the people using it will be more comfortable, so this is not a bug even for
me, at the moment.
