I looked at the log posted by Jesse and see no obvious reason why Surefire fails to setup itself. I
don't think that the problem come from Geotools, since Surefire fails before to run a single test.
The symptoms seem very similar to http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MSUREFIRE-43 but the cause is
obviously different since all yours data live on drive C:.
I noticed that the log file send by Jesse said that he is using maven-surefire-plugin 2.1.3-SNAPSHOT
instead of 2.1.2, which is the workaround suggested by Cory but seems to still fail according
Jesse's log. What was the log with 2.1.2 (as currently declared in pom.xml files)?
Are any other users facing similar problems when building with Maven 2? For those we are faced to
build failures, is the build successful when using the following command?
mvn install -Dmaven.test.skip
