Just found, via slash+geo, this cookbook for some proprietary software:

Without looking at the code, I like the layout. Especially nice is that
the examples have versioning in different columns. It would be nice to
develop a matrix of these examples for geotools 2.1, 2.2, and udig 1.0,
1.1. I hope it could be in our long term goals to develop a similar
'cookbook'.
