I'm not covering nD coverages.... I have thought about the extensions to 3D space and think the data structures and methods can be readily adapted (this would mean writing new ones though)... (I assume there should not be any difference for higher dimensions, but usually my assumptions are wrong...) One of the applications for the software has been terrain analysis via Digital Elevation Model data processing... There are methods for estimating flow accumulation, but nothing very sophisticated (although I haven't come across anything much better yet...)
