I agree with all you said, but disagree on the conclusion. That user is having issues because WFS is acting in weird ways compared to other datastores, and javadoc is not really helping. The only developer that helped him (me) had to look into the sources to provide him a solution, because I could not spot anything wrong with what he was doing. And I have no really idea how to tackle his last request, but then again, it shouldn't be my task, but the module maintaner's, no? It would be more fair to tell him, hey, give up or support yourself, because nobody is going to help you here.
