Thanks for the background Andrea; no I did not try a deploy (I was 
simply following Cory's advice to our email list). I will try making a 
release on Friday; if it fails over these issues we can think on it over 
the weekend and still produce something for Monday.

It also sounds like Martin patched up the jar-collector, I am not above 
removing the javadoc generation for this release - if that is what it 
takes to get something out the door this month.

So if it is okay with you - let's talk about this on Friday when I will 
know more.
