I don't think there is anyone serving data out of a raw GML file
(and I suggest against doing so because of obvious performance issues).
We haven't had any GeoServer related question on the GML2 datastore
in the last year, should be a good indication that nobody is really
using it in production.
So +1 from me to changes on that module.
