It seems that Andrea has already eliminated your two ideas Jody.

I took a peek at the unsupported modules here:
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTOOLS/Unsupported

I had a difficult time determining what had been orphaned, as it
appeared all modules had a maintainer listed. Maybe it would be good
to desingate the difference between orphaned modules and unsupported
modules?

At any rate, I didn't see anything unsupported modules that would be
ideally suited to my particular skills. (Although I am interested in
learning what the Tiger plug-in is all about. I couldn't find any
details on that.)

I have a knack for writing parsers, if that helps any. In the worst
case scenario here are some of my pet projects that might serve as an
expiremental module in GeoTools:

DXF Parsing
JTS To SVG Conversion
Route Alignments and Stationing

Here are some things I haven't started on, but would be interested in:

GPX (GPS Waypoint) Reader/Writer
FGDC Metadata Reader/Writer
Annotations/Labeling Support

Let me know if any of these light up a bulb.

Don't miss this year's exciting event. There's still time to save $100.
Use priority code J8TL2D2.
